Roy Florence

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Roy Walter Florence of Edmonton, Alberta, on November 11, 2023, at the age of 57—our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

He will be remembered by his loving spouse, Sandra; his sons Daniel and Brady; his daughters Emma and Romona; his father, Alexander; and his sister and brother-in-law Jayne and Fred Frank; as well as his Scottish family.

Roy was truly Scottish at his core. He embodied all of that nation’s best qualities: loyal, protective, friendly, and warm. One of his greatest Scottish traits, though, was his sharp sense of humour—something you see passed on to his four children when they sit around the dining room table bantering back and forth. Roy could make you laugh uproariously. No one comes close to matching his sharp wit. He enjoyed football, motorcycles, and roller skating, but nothing compared to his deep love for his family, his friends, and his cherished pets (Daisy Mae, Lily Rose, Harley, and Morgan). He sits now in the VIP section in Heaven, with his beloved mother, Rosetta.
