Mary Ann (Nesterchuk) Hoblak

The family of Mary Hoblak of Westlock, AB are saddened to announce her passing on March 22, 2023, Mary was born at the home in Lawton, AB on November 22, 1930.

 At the age of 92, she is survived by her four children: Helen (Larry) Wiese, Andrew (Gail) Hoblak, David (Senna) Hoblak and Richard (Pamela) Hoblak; daughters-in-law: Joanne, Loretta and Arnua; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren; sister, Helen (John) Majorow and brothers, Jim (Delta) Nesterchuk and Peter (Judy) Nesterchuk as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Mike Hoblak; sister, Doris (Ollie) Stepaniuk; children, Larry and Ron Hoblak; grandson Brayden Hoblak and her parents, Fred and Martha Nesterchuk.

 Mary farmed in the Rossington area and nurtured her family on the homestead until moving into Westlock.  She worked at the Westlock Inn as a cook then later at the Westlock Auxiliary Hospital.  She was known for her amazing cinnamon buns! Mary loved to work in her garden with an abundance of vegetables and flowers.  She was the center of many family gatherings and incredible meals.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday April 3, 2023 at Westlock Funeral Home with interment to follow at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
