HESS, MARGARET STELLA (ROSKI)

March 16, 1926 – March 15, 2023

On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, Margaret Hess of Westlock, AB passed away at the age of 96. Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend was a radiant light and will greatly be missed.

She is survived by her son Melvin (Heather) Hess, and daughters Lydia (Eldon) Kipke, and Edna Hess; grandchildren Angela (Terry) Littlemore, Dean (Heather) Hess, Allyson Hess, Krystal (Richard) Mueller, Jason (Kayla) Kipke, Ryan Kipke, Nathaniel Parry, Hannah (Christopher) Stacey, and Gwynne Parry; great-grandchildren Sydney, Victoria, Danielle, Jared, Haley, Stephanie, Kayla, Sabrina, Abigail, Katie, Ivan, Remi and Kaycee and great-great-grandson Liam. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and her dear friends at both Pembina and Smithfield Lodge.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Edward Hess, and siblings, Lawrence Macland, Louise Clare, Edward Fuller, Robert Roski, and Imogene Boulet.

She began her teaching career in 1947 and her love of teaching continued throughout her golden years. Margaret was a very friendly, outgoing lady, who lived a great life and never allowed herself to get bored. Her many hobbies and past times throughout her lifetime included; fishing, camping, sewing, gardening, baking, cross-stitching, knitting, crocheting, playing cards, cribbage, and puzzles. Margaret deeply loved her family and always enjoyed visits and lively conversation.

Prayer service will be held at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, in Westlock on Monday, March 20 at 7:00 pm. Funeral service at St. Mary’s Church will be held on Tuesday, March 21 at 1:00 pm with internment to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Clyde.
