HEMMERLING, Horst
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Horst Hemmerling of Westlock, AB on the March 20, 2022 at the age of 84 years. He is survived by his children, Judy (Shane) Schafers, David (Colleen) Hemmerling; long time companion Hedy Ganske; grandchildren, Devin Schafers, Jilene Schafers (Oso), Riley (Tanner) Young, Ryan Hemmerling; sisters, Gail (Gus) Hauer, Gerda Martin, Edline (Ron) Jacobi; sisters-in-law, Senta (Reinhold) Besler, Gerda Bonkowski, Norma Hemmerling, Sandy Hemmerling, Helga Hemmerling; as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Jutta, siblings Theodore Hemmerling, Samuel Hemmerling, Gerhard Hemmerling, Elsie (Klaus) Kuschminder, Rose (Wally), Herter and Herbert Hemmerling and brother-in-law Axel Sedtke.
Horst loved people and was an active member of his community. Always quick to help those in need in practical ways and at the drop of a hat. Supported local businesses first and cared for his friends and family. He will be missed by those that loved him and knew him.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 28th, 2022 at the Westlock Trinity Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Chappell officiating with interment in the Westlock Cemetery. Donations gratefully accepted to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute 11220 – 83 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T6G 2B7.
