Obituary

Henry Cyril CROSS

On November 11th, 2021 we lost a great man, great father, grandfather and great friend.  Henry passed away with his family by his side as he wanted.  He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.  He was such a kind man and was always so welcoming to anyone that ever met him.  Henry had a challenging life in NFLD to support his family, so in 1979 he moved his family to Fort McMurray, AB. He found a job at Syncrude Canada where he worked for 29 years.  He operated the bucketwheel for most of his time there.  In 2006 Henry (Loretta) moved to Westlock to enjoy their retirement.  He soon was a good friend to many in the community, with these friendships he started to work with the farming community.  He will always be surrounded by family and friends for that is what he was all about.  Henry will be remembered by his loving wife of 59 years Loretta ; his daughter Janice Cross (Barry); sons, Allan  Cross (Lisa), Calvin Cross (Joyce) and Lloyd Cross (Amber); 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; sister Elsie (Joe) March; brother Vaughn Cross; in-laws Alma Cross and Karen Napora, Ethel Bochner, Evelyn Cullihull, Eugene (Christine) Cullihull, Elaine Cullihull, Wayne (Marjorie) Cullihull, Claude (Ivy) Cullihull, Laverne Cullihull, Yvonne (Monty) Hillier and Sherry Cullihull; as well as other relatives and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Janet Cross; his brothers Marvin Cross and Hughie Cross; in-laws Grenville Cullihull, Carl Cullihull, Terry Kneller, Sam Bochner and Brian Snow.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.  The family wishes to send a special thank-you to the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute and to the Westlock Hospital.  Your caring and support for Henry will always be remembered.
