Cindy Myrtle Shank

The family of Cindy Myrtle Shank of Sandy Beach, Alberta, is saddened to announce her passing on August 20th, 2023, at the age of 62 years.

She will be remembered by her loving son and daughter, Mathieu and Shellaine, her grandson Alax, her husband Kevin, and sisters Verna, Alice, Yvonne, Evelyn and her brothers Terry and Norman. She will also be dearly missed by her many friends, especially her bestie Deanne.

She was predeceased by her son, Colin, her brother Lawrence, her sister Delores, and her parents Larry and Helen Shank.

Cindy grew up in Westlock but spent her high school years in Fort McMurray where she met her high school sweet-heart and the father of her children, Wade. They were married and had three children, Mathieu, Colin, and Shellaine. She was known for her beautiful smile, vibrant black curly hair, and bubbly personality. Cindy had many fond memories at Charlies Lake, where she would spend time with her parents and enjoyed fishing for Northern Pike. She always loved the outdoors and being by the lake, which is why when she married her second husband Kevin Volk, she bought a property close to the shoreline in Sandy Beach. Cindy loved to dress up and we encourage everyone to wear their best, but traditional funeral clothes are also fine.
