Penchuk Orest Patrick
Orest was born in Radway Hospital on January 7, 1943 to parents Alexander and Maria Penchuk. He was raised on the family farm by Newbrook and attended school at Darling. He left school at the age of 15 to work various jobs in the area, and eventually got a job working in the oil field.
He met his wife Marilyn in 1968 and they were married on October 24th, 1970. They moved to Edson where they had two children, Mark and Cheryl. In 1974 he moved his family back to the family farm where he continued to work on the rigs and farm.
In 1980, he left the oilfield and began farming full time.
He became involved in many communities within the community. He coached his children and their friends on various hockey teams as well as playing hockey himself.
As time went by his focus turned to his 6 grandchildren, Cheryl having Jesse and Lane and Mark with Carson, Caitlin, Alison, and Tanner. He and Marilyn spent their time off the farm enjoying their grandchildren’s activities and occasional fishing trips.
