Brianna Dawn Dueck

July 10, 2002 ~ June 12, 2019 (age 16)

Brianna Dawn Dueck

July 10, 2002 - June 12, 2019

Maybe she did belong among the stars… Brianna Dawn Dueck joined our family on July 10, 2002.  A ray of sunshine from the very first day.  Our daughter and sister always had a kind heart. Jesus was her best friend from a very young age.  She always had a heart for anyone no matter who they were. Her beautiful smile lit up her face and our lives.  She always took her responsibilities seriously in youth, with her school and at home. You could always rely on her to get the job done, even as a five-year-old she would be helping mom make soup at The Rolling Pin in Bow Island.

She spent her first six years of school in Bow Island, AB. We moved to Westlock where she completed grade nine at Pembina Valley Christian School, and her determination carried her through grade eleven with Hope Christian School.

Her love for Jesus went with her through her whole life. Before she could read, she studied her picture bible and as she got older, she continued that devotion.  Brianna was baptized into the Church of God in the Christ Mennonite at the age of twelve by Min. Jamin Issac.

Brianna was employed part time at Sobey’s, where she enjoyed her co-workers and customers alike.  She also did some volunteer work at the local nursing home. Her lifelong dream was to be a schoolteacher.

She was captivated by the great outdoors.  Late in the evening, when it was quiet, and the stars were shining she would go out to feed her animals and give them love.  Just before they left on their road trip she said, “Mom, when you’re feeding my animals, could you just give my horses 10 minutes of love a day while I’m gone?”  We thought this would only be a few days, never knowing that it would be forever.  Her assortment of pets will miss her loving care.

On June 12, 2019, while traveling to see Miranda in Saskatchewan the girls were involved in an accident and Brianna was quickly carried away by the angels to her home beyond the stars.

Left behind with broken hearts are her parents, Russ and Rhonda and siblings Kale and Karlynn, Miranda and Jenna, all of Westlock, AB. Also missing her are her grandparents,Leonard and Irma Dueck, from Whitemouth, MB and Phyllis Barkman, also of Whitemouth, MB & cousin Alexia as well as many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins and a host of friends. Preceding her in death is her grandpa Wes Barkman.
